Trump Made Over $1 Billion in 2024 From Crypto, Real Estate, Watches

Trump's latest financial disclosure shows 1.2 billion dollars in crypto income last year, outpacing his real estate fortune…

Donald Trump's annual financial disclosure filed this year shows his crypto holdings generated roughly 1.2 billion dollars in income, a figure that now dwarfs the real estate portfolio that built his public profile before he entered politics.

Crypto Income Eclipses the Real Estate Legacy

The 900 page disclosure covers earnings accumulated over the past year, a stretch in which Trump's digital asset ventures grew faster than any property deal he struck across decades in real estate. World Liberty Financial, his venture selling governance tokens, stablecoins and related crypto products, brought in more than 500 million dollars. A separate venture, CIC Digital LLC, pulled in over 600 million dollars from sales of meme coins bearing Trump's image.

Both token types have lost significant value since they were sold, a pattern common to assets with no cash flow or equity claim behind them. Governance tokens grant holders a vote on certain policy decisions inside a company, nothing more, which means conventional valuation frameworks used for equities or even most cryptocurrencies do not translate cleanly.

Foreign Buyers and Big Checks

Demand showed up anyway from buyers with resources and, in some cases, business pending before the federal government. Chinese billionaire Justin Sun spent 75 million dollars on the governance tokens and another 200 million dollars on the meme coins. A federal lawsuit accusing Sun of misleading investors was paused in February 2025 and later resolved with a 10 million dollar fine. Sun has said his spending on Trump ventures was unrelated to the case, and World Liberty has rejected suggestions of a conflict of interest.

A company tied to the United Arab Emirates government also bought a 500 million dollar stake in World Liberty just before Trump's inauguration. The disclosure does not describe that transaction directly but records a capital contribution to Trump worth close to 200 million dollars.

Other Income Streams in the Disclosure

The filing lists tens of millions of dollars from new property holdings in foreign countries, several of which have direct interests in United States military deployments and tariff policy. Trump also collected tens of millions more from lawsuits against media companies, entities that face exposure to broadcast license reviews and merger approvals from federal regulators he oversees.

Smaller ventures added up too. Licensing his name on Bibles, guitars and watches brought in millions on its own, with watch sales alone contributing 4.7 million dollars.

What the Numbers Leave Unanswered

The disclosure quantifies the income but does not explain why buyers like Sun or the UAE linked firm chose to spend when they did, nor does it resolve whether the timing had any bearing on regulatory or diplomatic outcomes each party had pending with Washington.
